looking for a set of gt3 mk2 alloys, found some here: http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod546/18--Style-455-alloy-wheels the info says they WONT fit the narrow body 996 and the guy on the end of the phone says they will stick out due to the offset. Arnt the gt3's based on a narrow body anyway? WILL THEY FIT A NARROW BODY 996?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10" rear width max on narrow body i think
GT3 are narrow-bodied but the rears have an offset of 63mm ie. ET63, not ET45. You'll have an 'extra' 18mm to deal with
I have that style of wheel on my NB 996 so they do make them. Try this link, half way down the page http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_mono_block_solid_wheels.html I'm pretty sure mine were originally sourced through design911 so try speaking to them again :thumb:
Rich996 - one other thing you should be looking at are the wheel weights. I can't remember which aftermarket specialist I was speaking to (I think it was PorscheShop?) and they told me that their replica wheels did weigh "10% - 15%" more than the genuine item. This has an affect on unsprung weight and will of course affect the handling, braking and acceleration of your car. Someone on the forum had a chart with all the 996 wheel weights - if I had it I would post it up here. However PorscheShop did also tell me that it's "not something you can really tell." If the weights of the wheels you are looking at are indeed heavier I would advise you to get second hand genuine items instead. Just my 2p. ~ Maxie
