Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a 987.1 cayman S that I've converted to a race car. The head unit has been removed, and I'm trying to figure out where the relay is to direct the air to the windshield. Now when I turn the blower motor on it directs air at the floor. I just need to get it moved to the windshield so if racing in rainy conditions I will be able to defrost the windshield. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

POST 2Original post

There are mechanical doors that divert the air to floor/face/windshield. If you've removed the HVAC controller, you'll need to dig into the dash to physically secure the doors in the position you desire.

POST 3Original post

If you have removed the HVAC controller - hopefully the wiring is still there - it might be worth reinstalling it for a few minutes and use it to switch the HVAC flaps over to defrost - then remove it again. I don't think aside from getting into the HVAC box manually that there is any simple way to make that change.
