Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Boxster and Cayman made it onto the Car and Driver 10 best list again. 11th time for the Boxster. In a separate section of the magazine, they explain that they had considered the 911 as well but it didn't provide the driving experience that the mid engine cars do. http://www.caranddriver.com/features/09q4/2010_10best_cars-10best_cars In the same issue, it looks like VW is going to push for a Porsche downmarket of the Boxster that shares it's chassis with a VW and Seat.

POST 2Original post

I've had 'em both, and I've said it before, and I'll say it again - you have to be a very, very good driver in a 911 to pass a Boxster at the track. If you want a car that's easier to live with day to day, the 911 is a little more comfortable...and, in a straight line, it's faster...but I just like the Boxster S better.

POST 3Original post

I wonder if Porsche will ever give in and make a Boxster / Cayman that is the beast a GT3 is?

POST 4Original post

i hope so but i have a feeling it will take awhile

Yup they were talking about it before the big buy-out. Now VW is going to try to double Porsche's sales volume and will need a lower priced model for that.

POST 8Original post

I love the part where they say best "P" to decribe a boxster is Perfect!! "There are a lot of words beginning with the letter “P” that can describe the mechanically identical Boxster and Cayman—poised and profitable leap to mind—but we think the most appropriate one is perfect "

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
