I hope this is in the right area. Couldn't find "exterior" forum. So, my 996 C4 Aerokit (cup?, taco?) spoiler is resonating quite badly on the right side. See image, I've circled the resonating spot. If you hold your hand there, the resonating will stop. You can also feel that the middle part is moving a bit on that side, if you apply up/down pressure on it (talking about less than a millimeter), other side feels completely solid. I removed 4 screws from bottom of the top wing, and It was pivoting around the "back" (car side) of the wing where it was still attached somehow. Also, it didn't pivot more than couple degrees before something inside the spoiler stopped it. So, how do I take the top wing completely off? I feel that whatever the 2 screws are attaching inside the spoiler, is coming loose and needs some kind of fixing.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is the noise resonating inside the car? Or, is it just when you're standing next to the spoiler? Seems like I remember these spoilers are one peace design from the factory. I'm pretty sure they aren't easily disassembled. Doing so may cause more damage than it's worth.
Outside. It really takes a bit away from that "classy Porsche feeling", when your car rattles like some old Peugeot on idle. Here's a thread of a similar problem, and someone linked a PDF that maybe helped the OP to fix their problem. However the PDF is no longer available http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t...ea8fd30d67e4b1

I've seen that adjustment page. However after loosening the 4 screws on the bottom of the top wing, I wasn't able to remove it, just adjust the angle and it didn't even turn enough so I could see anything more. If I see right, the scews that I can see from under the spoiler are attached to part "3". However I feel that "4" or "1" is loose inside the spoiler. Edit: On the 911UK page you linked, the guy says "The brackets either side with the single screw and the support pin are out. " I can't seem to understand where that single screw and support pin is. I can only see the 4 screw under the top wing, and everything else is hidden between the top wing and "sides of the spoiler". The spoiler doesn't turn enough to reveal anything extra, even with the screws removed. I'll see if I have time to grab a video today of what I mean. Leaving to Singapore for a week next monday, so might have to do it after that.
If I recall the pivot pin is in a slot so you can slide the wing forward and I think it may even come out but you have to be able to turn the wing verticle to do that. You can see the slot in the image (#1). If you can't do that I wonder if a screw came loose and getting stuck in the slot.
