Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm having an exhaust fabricated with sports cats. I need to decide on exhaust tip shape. I'm minded to opt for a simple slightly oversized round tips design with a rolled edge tip on each side. Anyone recommend a better look design pls ?I still have a few days to change my mind. Thank you

POST 2Original post

Ovals with straight edges. Rolled look too soft. Want a sawn off shotgun appearance.

POST 3Original post

Rolled edges look a bit 1990's big bore you know the score.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

By "rolled"I mean like the OEM tips look at the exit, which looks a bit more quality than a saw'd off look. So a bit like this pic..just not sticking out as much either

POST 7Original post

By 'rolled' I meant that too. Blades are coolest. No comment on the 8s.

POST 8Original post

Was hankering after the '8s' when i first got the car, but have to admit the standard ovals have grown on me in the way they mirror the skirt line? :dont know:

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All valid points so far. On some cars the 8's look great and on some they look like they are too complicated. The shape of the cutout in the bumper is not helping either with tip shape. :nooo: Perhaps a large oval (like the RS6) might look good ? Any other ideas please :?:

POST 10Original post

Not only do rolled edges look naff, they're a ***** to keep clean as the exhaust fumes deposit on the rolled edge.

POST 12Original post

Oval slash cut to follow the lines of the bumper. No rolling of lips. Not a fan of the 8s as I've never understood what they are meant to be. Looks like a quad exit exhaust but you can clearly see it's a single pipe just behind the 8. Even cheap hatchbacks go 2 into 1 at the back box rather than just stuck a facia on a single pipe.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok thanks for the inputs all. I am liking these on the last pic with the big oval tips, so will forward the pic to the exhaust shop.
