Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello. New to the forum and a new 911 owner. Picked up this 2003 Turbo in March of 2019, and have loved every minute of it so far. It's my first porsche, coming out of a BMW M4 which left me fairly cold. I've put 3000 miles on it this year, and spent a bit of time underneath it too, sorting out a few bits and pieces. It has the carbon interior and blue leather, and most importantly (for me anyway) three pedals

POST 3Original post

A great looking car in a really nice colour. :welcome: to 911uk

POST 5Original post

Massively under rated and capable cars. Welcome to the Turbo club! Add some new or uprated engine mounts and you're in for a great time, it really tightens the handling up a treat. The car looks lovely, is it Midnight Blue?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it's midnight blue. Haven't considered the engine mounts yet but I'll look into it. I'm also going to get around to a boost leak test at some point. I've found it a far superior machine to the M4 in every conceivable way. Looks/steering /fun factor/compact. Perhaps not quite as brutal in a straight line, but the smoothness of the porsche belies its pace. And funnily enough, it seems to be well received by people out and about. I had visions of being heaped into the porsche w*anker category. I think/hope that history is starting to be a bit kinder to the 996 generation. The design is ageing well, and I do think the Turbo body kit looks good on it

POST 7Original post

Congratulations on a stunning looking car. Have fun.

POST 8Original post

Beautiful. Love my 997.2 to bits but the 996 Turbo is for me the iconic modern Porsche. Have fun!

POST 10Original post

Mine's standard apart from the exhaust, and will keep up with an M4 in a straight line no problem. :thumb:
