well but I will still lurk the forum which helped me a lot and through I met loads of interesting people ( some with Porsches, some with skirts... ) anyway, Im moved back in Portugal ( my own country ) and brought my 911 with me, which will have portuguese plates soon... had LOADS of work done in the last month, namely : wheel refurb at Lepsons - fantastic detailing at KDS - very nice, great price ( sorry G ) clutch and flywheel replaced clutch system, clutch actuator, clutch pump, half of the cooling system, and gearbox rebuild ALL done trough warranty ( thank God since I saw the bill and had two strokes. and Im a young guy. ) turbo heatshields and few bits and pieces when engine was out ( cheap since 0 labour cost ) front and rear wishbones replaced 4 new tyres new painted console - still waiting for it but should be on time so the car is as new, drives as new and had a geo done by center gravity, so is as new but handles BETTER than new arrived yesterday in Portugal, after TORRENTIAL rain in France, French speed cameras and ... I WANT TO KILL THEM, French motorists. Good Lord, Im a easy going guy and I rarely get nervous with other drivers, but French drivers are rated as the WORSE ever... I know that it was Easter period and loads of weekeend drivers on the road but... can someone explain them that if a motorway has 3 lanes is NOT because its optional the one you drive ? that has a purpose the three lanes ? honestly... it was MILES and MILES of cars on the overtaking lane and two joes on the other ones.. and nobody moves over because it might be cool, under some French way, to drive at 60mph even if the guy next to you is driving at 59mph and other other lane theres a lorry doing 51mph... and a Porsche driver going nuts for the last 30 minutes behind you. Im with Wattie now : I hate Diesel . And its drivers. The amount of TDI drivers who think that first they have the best engine in the world and second that its cool to tailgate a Porsche. Oh well, crossing the Pyrenees was COOL. That made for the whole French issues. And Spanish motorways were deserted. That was cool. Last but not least, my favorite Portuguese B roads that I did already today in my 911 Turbo. 911 UK meet in Portugal these days ? I'll post a link of a glorious B road, in the forest, by a river, deserted... And my whole family think Im nuts... because after 2 days of driving, 2000 miles.. I had lunch and then went washing my car. Sorry if the pictures arent great but were taken with the iPhone

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Goodbye Proenca; never had the pleasure of meeting you. Do post us pics of that road you describe - it sounds quite nice. Car looks good - is it on a marble surface of some kind? All the best. ~ Maxie :bye:
:envy: About a year ago we were thinking seriously about buying house near Tavira, but the exchange rate has killed that idea for the time being. I know the roads in Portugal are quiet, but I have seen some appalling driving there as well - take care PS the car looks great
Wow! - Both the car and the surrounding looks good! 911uk meeting in Portugal..... Im not sure if its long enough for the engine to warm up thought  ....Are you planning to service it yourself now, or do you already have a trusted OPC/Indy out there?
Thanks ! Well the surroundings are brilliant.. its the country house.. not in Lisbon.. but the scenery around are fantastic. And the B roads sublime. To give you an idea, heres a picture taken from the window few weeks ago ( when I came to do deal with some red tape before moving now ) Anyway, servicing myself is not an option. Im quite spanner challenged, although Im eager to learn. I contemplate to buy a cheap car to run and service around and learn a bit, as a hobby ( lets say a 200 pounds car ) , but I freeze to death just the though of myself doing it to my pride & joy. OPCs are decent in Portugal and theres a good indy, or so I learned ( lived away from Portugal for the last 9 years.. ) in the 911uk equivalent here oh well, so many B roads to explore
Farewell :bye: Provenca. Enjoy the return and the sunshine, with a Porsche. Big Bob :bye:
