Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Big thumbs up for Martin's Tyres again :thumb: Phoned them yesterday after having alot of trouble with supply of MPS2 285/30/18. They stated exactly what others have noted, that the N1 is almost impossible to get hold of but they could get me a full set of N3s by next day where others have failed. Price was a little more than expected but I was fed up waiting, £155 fronts, £251 rears, £812 all in including fitting. Was in and out in 30min. :thumb: First impression of the N3, not as aesthetically pleasing as the N1 but with a softer ride and slightly less road noise. Let's see if they last 11000 miles inc Ring trip and 'fun' days like the N1s did... All in all I'm poorer but happy

POST 2Original post

Glad you got your tyres, they have always done me a good job but then I do know the owner :thumb: TB

POST 3Original post

Interesting Stu, when I bought my Mich a few years ago the only version they did in 225/40 and 285/30 were the N1s. Look fwd to hearinh how you get on with them, especially since you've had both types. Agree, N1s do look nice

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not as good as the N1 and that was/is the main concern. The N1 had that extra 'lip' which helped alot. I also think that's what made the N1 a better looking tyre.

POST 6Original post

I was just about to ask about the lip on the N3's too. I'm supposed to be having a set of N3's fitted to the rear soon and I have plenty of tread left on my front N1's. Is there a lip at all on the N3's - or is my car going to end up looking a bit 'unbalanced'? Thanks. Adrian.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is no 'lip' but the edge comes out further than the alloy rim so does provide some protection. Can't really comment on the unbalanced side of things. If you can hold off for that elusive set of N1s then probably your best bet...
