Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I don't take the keys out of any of my vehicles. Never have so I have left the key in the Cayman several times and a couple of times the battery has been dead. Is it because I left the key in Or Bad battery Or Something else Thanks

POST 2Original post

Don’t ever do this! Leaving the keys in the ignition causes several electronic functions within the vehicle to be powered and draw several amps even with the ignition key in the off position. You’re going to continue to kill your battery if you do this.

POST 4Original post

Yes, I had mine 3 years before I accidentally left the key in all night. Killed the battery big time and now I have an airbag warning light on the dash.:wall::wall:

POST 5Original post

Really Really Really BAD IDEA Read our FAQ and you will find out why.

POST 6Original post

Yes, when you drain the battery, the airbag warning light will appear. The same applies when you remove the battery inside to tickle charge the it during the winter (I'm a norther with no heated garage). That's £50 at Porsche Center every singel springtime.... Petty-minded for a misleading system.
