So Nav....loading an address (which theres not enough hours in the day to do) seem impossibly sloooooooowww. Is this normal?? It keeps saying "loading data"....eventually, maybe, perhaps, sometimes....I'll be able to enter some text. Also, theres no CD in the Nav thingamajig. Does it need one?? Every once in a while the screen will display "Unable to Read nav CD" I realize its a 2006...the dawn of the era of the smart phone, so yeah...things were pretty dumb back then. LOL...but THIS dumb!?? Any advice, validation, or empathy is appreciated!! Regards, Jason

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Yes I believe it needs a CD but in 2006 the nav system was worthless IMO.
PCM has to be the most worthless item on these cars. Just dump it and get a head unit that will pair with your phone and be done with it. Also, get a backup camera while you're at it. Nice, cheap option.
For such beautiful cars that are so much fun to drive, for some reason Porsche has decided to put in the most user hostile sound systems. It doesn't matter which one you have... The CDR24 that came in my 06 had a great feature of a slight delay between any function and any result. Try to turn the volume up, there was a delay, so I went too far. Turn it down, delay, too far. I made it a week before I was on the phone with Crutchfield - I have a nice Kenwood unit with a simple touch screen!
