Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Love my 987.1S... Had it just over a month now and shes a pleasure to drive... one thing that's a minor annoyance is the reception on the aftermarket Alpine unit. It gets to the point of just turning the radio off... I'm old school and dont have a bunch of songs in my phone ti hook up and would like the radio to work... Shes got the Bose and looks to be the factory amp... is there anything I can do to improve the reception? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

The radio antenna is in the windshield. Unfortunately without going to fairly extreme measures I think you're stuck. Have you tried looking for a radio streaming service app for your phone?

POST 3Original post

The car has an antenna booster, and to turn it on you must send 12V to pin A-5 on the car's radio wiring harness. I would assume the installer of your Alpine did not do this. Locate the power antenna wire from the Alpine and get the 12V from there.
