Hi everyone just took my spare out of my 996 cabc4 its flat and if I inflate it it wont go back in its slot. Also it inflates rather oddly its all lop sided. So what do I do. Also would the holts tyre weld say, 2 tins, be good enough to use in place of the spare and I would leave the spare in the garage, to my mind it looks useless, unless of course I am being dumb here, would apprecaite any advice especially on the tyre weld foam front ie, is it relaable, any help would be gratefully received, should be touring North Wales soon with the wife so need to be sure thanks Mike

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Errr.. It's supposed to be flat on a C4  There should also be a compressor for you to inflate it with if the spare is needed, and it definitely will not fit in the compartment when inflated. if it won't inflate fully if could have 'stuck' together where it has been compressed to fit for 10 years. Try rolling it a little with some weight on top of it and then use a more powerful compressor and it should eventually pop into place and inflate evenly. HTH
Thank you found the compressor have used the one in my garage but it blows up all lopsided my real question now is do I need it or is tyre foam emergency stuff good enough many thanks Mike
The only time I ever needed mine was when I clipped a rock, avoiding an oncoming white van in the middle of the road (with a mobile stuck to his ear), and split the sidewall on a kerb. So tyreweld would have been worse than useless! I still think yours is sticking if it is blowing up lopsided... It has a sort of double fold and both sides need to 'unstick' for it to blow up properly: This happened to mine first time I used it, but after a few 'bounces' it unstuck and then blew up normally (or as normally as any space saver can  ) (If you do succeed, the hardest bit is trying to deflate it enough to fit back in it's compartment... )
Thank you Wattie I think the tyre has deformed quite badly one side pushes right over and the other is not stuck at all it is a bit scary it looks as though its going to blow off the rim, anyway thanks again Mike
