Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Definitely you need a new tyre immediately. Car is not safe to drive. If this was a new tyre it might be worth taking up with the supplier, as this should not happen, whether you hit a pothole or not. £200 for one tyre sounds a bit steep but what do I know. My 225/45 17s are approx £130 each. Sorry can't help on the oil leak, but other on here no doubt will ...

POST 2Original post

POST 10Original post

Hi guys Thanks for the info - actually I haven't been driving the car at all since I have been away - but it has done a few journeys since then. No oil has dripped onto my driveway, no extra oil appears to be on the underside than all the weeks ago when I posted this.; The only thing I have noticed upon driving is that there is a small whining noise when pressing the accelerator only very slightly - it goes if off the gas completely or putting the foot down a bit more. I know I should take it to a garage but I am realllllllllly busy at the moment - at a guess - can I get away with it - or does it sound more serious..? Thanks again for the help Sam Thanks

It appears there is a problem leak but the only way to find out the root of the problem is to get it checked out properly. The question that only you can answer is whether you do that sooner or later... IMO sooner is probably better for the conscience (but not necessarily for the wallet)! Good luck!
