Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a 2003 Boxster S, found 2 seats on e-bay that were supposedly a direct fit..... However, they are obviously from a later model as the plugs on the wiring harness are completely different. Yes, I can return them if I pay the freight, but the seats are here, and very nice. Curious if anyone has rewired to fit, or heard of an adapter harness available before I begin modifying to get power to the seat mechanism? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Return them. The cost for grafting in a new wiring harness connector and then coding the airbags in even before the rail swap would kill any cost savings. Find yourself some 996 GT3 seats. There are plenty to choose from on the ******** classifieds

POST 3Original post

Are your own seats not salvageable? Why change them? Curious.
