Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Is there any difference between suspension springs for the automatic cars and manual ones? Only reason I'm asking is because multiple car part sites said a certain suspension part does not fit since my car isn't manual.

POST 2Original post

Put year and model in your signature so you won't have to remember to forget to put it in your questions. You probably should get a copy of the offical PET for your car. Has all the parts for all models and notes if they are different between models/options.

POST 3Original post

Yes. The rear springs are slightly different lengths to account for differences in weight between the gearboxes, which hang pretty far back behind the rear axle and have a good bit of leverage.

POST 4Original post

The front springs don't have too much difference? Tried looking through the PET ( https://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/en/KAT034_RDW_GB_987C-2.pdf ) but didn't really find anything too helpful Only reason I'm asking is because ECS Tuning sells a Cayman R spring upgrade kit for PDK vehicles for $662. The kit contents include front Cayman R springs ($186!) that mention they're for manual cars, and the rear springs doesn't mention anything about which transmission type. But outside the kit, they sell rear Cayman R springs that do specify that they're for PDK vehicles. And they are different based on the color identification code.
