Car is a Tiptronic & its due in for the MOT soon. I am concerned about the emission test as I have read that if its revved up in neutral to 3000+ rpm it will cause damage to the Torque converter?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I can't see that there would be any problem, otherwise you you would have heard about it by now, with the amount of automatics around. If the engine is warm, then revving it to 3000 isn't an issue. I don't know what year your car is, but mine has a rev limiter which prevents it being revved above about 3500 in neutral anyway. Relax, would be my advice.
Correct me if I am wrong, but you only fry torque convertors by having lots of resistance, stress and heat, IE boy racer antics by trying to pull through the brakes. Neutral with the parking brake should be fine. *edit that was not in response to you Richard *
Thanks for the reply s ,all done passed fine.
Good stuff
