Any guesses on the wholesale cost of the new 991? If dealers are charging $82,100 and $96,400 respectively for the Carerra and Carerra S. Any guesses what their margins are? I understand there probably won't be any deals in the first few months as everyone is dying to get one, but just curious how much room there is to move.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

In the US, in the past, it had been ~10% on the car and ~15% on the options. HTH
I think it's hard to say at this time what the market for the 991 will be when it goes on sale in North America in early 2012. The economy is pretty soft right now so I can't imagine dealers getting more than MSRP, but it's unclear how many of these cars Porsche intends to crank out. Even if demand is limited, low production numbers could keep prices higher. The other question is whether people who are shopping now would rather take a hot deal on a 997.2 and then wait a couple of years to see how things shake out w/ the 991. I don't have a good sense of the degree of pent up demand for the new car, and I'd be interested in hear other opinions on this. Our local dealer said they would make me a "good deal" on a 991 which usually means 10% but only on existing inventory, no custom orders.
Here in Saudi the prices of the new 991 are 20% higher than MSRP with a waiting list already. In the UAE the Avantador is 35% higher than MSRP. In Saudi the Avantador has 1 year waiting list... So go figure!!!
