Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all I'm trying to determine what colour the gurney strip on the mk1 aero rear wing should be. The gurney on my car has had a shoddy repaint in satin black at some point in its life and I want to repaint it. Internet images show GT3s have a black gurney and Carreras with aero wings have a body coloured gurney. Can any fellow owners confirm my thinking? Cheers :thumb:

POST 2Original post

Yep, that's exactly it. Proper GT3 one is Matt/satin black. Carrera (GT3) Aerokit one, is colour coded. Personally I'd always do it matt black as it looks better, but it depends how true to factory you want a Carrera one to be. :thumb:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Mark Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I think I'm leaning towards black but will mull it over some more before I make the final decision. In no rush as just about to start correcting the paintwork. Cheers :thumb:

POST 4Original post

Hi Guys Going to appear stupid here.... What does a 'Gurney strip' look like on a Mk1 Aero wing (I assume this is the same spoiler as fitted to a GT3). Secondly, what does it do :?:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's the lip that runs the length of the lower plane of the spoiler. I'm not suitably qualified to tell you what it's for beyond 'aerodynamics'!

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
