Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi all New here, wanting to know what are the differences in body panels with the Cayman 987 gen 1 and gen 2. Are the front guards, rear guards, front and rear bumper bars interchangeable. cheers

POST 2Original post

Not sure about the front guards (Fenders for the Americans but the bottom of the headlight is a different shape between .1 and .2 so the bumper is definitely different. Similar story at the rear, the bottom edge of the taillights are a different shape and so the bumper is different. It would not surprise me in the least if the sheet metal is the same between .1 and .2 If you are looking for replacenment parts, Boxster .1 guards are the same as Cayman .1 guards and the front and rear bumpers are interchangable as well however the rubber radiator duct immediately behind the bumper is a slightly different shape between the Cayman and Boxster though entirely usable. Cheers, Julian
