Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have this annoying squeek/rattle coming from behind the dash console. I have gone through all the usual stuff trying to isolate it. Removed all items from the glove box etc. turned off the air-con and fans. It only occurs when moving but seems less evident at high speed ( obvious response would be just drive fast then!). Clearly ripping all to bits would be a pain and costly. The last invasive moment in the dash area was sat nav replacement but that was around a year ago and all has been well until the last couple of months. Any suggestions welcome as its driving me slowly insane. M c:

Yeah good luck with that.... :-( Let me know how many pound coins you find underneath the ashtray - I had 9 and its still rattling. If the squeak is coming from the windscreen, lift up the rubber lube it with Vaseline. Failing that replace it - its not much.
