I have a handbrake that once release seems to stick on, as if the cable is loose but something hasn't released, maybe the on-board drum brakes are sticking? Before I start to strip the handbrake mechanism down does anybody please have any first 'port of call' pointers as to where I should start? Any help would be appreciated. Kind Regards Gary

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Are you sure it is the handbrake? It is very common to get sticky brakes when the car has been left for a while, especially if it was washed just before it was put away. You can ger a real "crack" as they release when you start to move, usually accaompanied by a slight scraping the first coule of times the brakes are applied. It is always best to take the car for a short run to 'brake the disks dry' before putting it away after washing.
