Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi every one. I have had my 996 Turbo for 2 months now and am absolutely loving it. I covered 500 miles this weekend, what with the Charity meet at Dunsfold and a blast up North today to see the old man, and every one of them was great. I can't get over the grip in the wet!! Any way the quick question is to do with the only slight gripe I have with the car. When it is warm the engine at tick over sounds a little ropey whilst sat still. It kind of sounds like a pulley. When it's cold it sounds fine. Now i asked about this when buying and a few people, including the Specialist dealer said it was normal and just a characteristic of the TT lump. Can anyone on here confirm that?? She runs like a dream and covers the miles with absolute ease, to quickly sometimes, lol. But this little thing niggles me and I just want to check. It did go in under warranty for a new MAF and re-circ valve and they didn't pick up on anything. Many thanks Jims

Hello and welcome Nice purchase. It should sound odd at low speed, quite quiet IIRC although problem are normally at cold rather than warm. DO you have a specialist warranty (if so which one?) or OPC

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
