I just bought a near showroom condition 2006 Boxster S with PCM 2.1 and Sport Chrono pkg. The only issue Ive detected is that the On board Computer Display that is located BELOW THE TACHOMETER, is dim. I'm not talking about the head unit display but rather the small LCD instrumentation below the tachometer where speed, etc is shown. Has anyone else had this problem? What is the cause? What is the fix? Ive found nothing in the manual that addresses this. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

does the dimmer control make any difference to the brightness? or just the instruments?
The dimmer control for instrumentation is up to max. The tach LCD is barely visible. Its almost as though the LCD is not getting enough electrical signal. Thanks for the reply.
