Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, i know there has been plenty of treads on this subject as i've spent all morning loking at them, but the only thing i can't find is someone who can perform the 996 muffler by pass pipe hack similar to Oettle. There is loads of information on how to DIY this mod, but i just don't have these sort of skills, i know my limits! I did have someone, my mate, but he doesn't want to take it on  So, does anyone know anywhere that is capable/done this mod before? I have the mufflers, just need someone to do the mod for me. I'm in the Manchester area. If not then i suppose i'll have to send them to Germany, though this is the last resort. :?:

POST 2Original post

hiya, Ive privately mailed you but nothing too detailed Im afraid. The Oettle boxes were a little over £300 plus about £30 postage as I recall. Im not sure how they are now with the exchange rate but check out ebay. They might do you a deal for a swap of the unmodified units.

If you just want the bypass tubes added, you could try Hayward & Scott: http://www.haywardandscott.com/

POST 4Original post

Where are you in the UK? I may know someone local who could do the job. I have two pairs of the pipework left, 60mm mandrel bent. All that is required is the caps grinding off the top of your cans, the hole boring into the exit pipe then my bends get welded into place. Once done the growl is enhanced but no way intrusive. The pipes are made from T409 stainless and £30 a pair.

Lloyd, having read extensive feedback on this conversion, there are two methids, one is as you describe and the other is a bypass pipe from the inlet to the outlet pipe. According to all the various posts it seems the latter is the better modification as its a near perfect match to the PSE, so thats the one i'm after. I think i have attached a photo, if you can see it, you will be able to see th epipe on each muffler. Please all help is appreciated, oh and i'm in the Manchester area!
