I lent my car last weekend to a good friend last weekend. They mentioned that they was a very slight "tapping noises" coming from the front while driving and mentioned that it might be the stabilisers. Seeing as it has now become my weekend car, its is not driven much (well during the week anyway!) Being a total noob with car mechanics, I haven't got the faintest idea where to look or how to confirm this. Im aware of stuff like the arms, bushes, bearing, shock mounts ect but cant picture where this fits in... Can anyone shed some light on this please, where to look and whether this is a big job? Cheers :thumb:

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

here? TB
Rich H will no doubt find a nice PDF picture for you but the stabilisers look like little dog bone links, 4" tall, upright position.
Cheers Guys- tbrown - Do you know if those are available for the front as well??
only on the cabriolet  TB
There is allot in the suspension that can rattle and squeak and tap and click....... Your freind may be shooting in the dark See your local indie for a true diagnosis.
What? This nice picture again? As Adey says, get an indy to diagnose it, but it sounds like the anti-roll (stabiliser) bar drop links. Or something rattling in the boot........
Cheers Guys! Good point about the boot - Im sure there alot of crap there too :thumb:
We must start a partition to get that picture in the 996 FAQ!! It has to be the most requested (pre-watershed) image requested on this forum.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
