Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been told they made the fenders wider to accomodate the redesigned 02' front bumper cover. Anyone know if that's true?...

POST 2Original post

Well I believe the front track is wider for the 02+ cars, and the turbo shares the front fenders of the facelift cars, so I would think it's plausible, though I imagine it'd be a challenge to find hard data. I feel like there's a small aerodynamic difference from the different nose/fenders at higher speeds (less lift/drag), but there's plenty of room under the MK1 fenders for wide wheels/tires if that's your primary concern.

POST 3Original post

JR....I have a MkI and MkII so I could take a measurement if you needed. Just let me know what types of measurements are needed.

Pretty sure that's not true. Check the part numbers in PET. The difference in the bumpers is the headlights.
