Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All, I recently bought a 2002 Boxster and I had a question with regards to the shifter. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd, my older Acura has a protection built in which prevents it from going back into 1st accidentally unless you rest in the neutral position first. This cut down on shifting time from 2nd to 3rd where I just pushed up the shifter and went straight into 3rd. I don't see this in the Boxster. No matter what the Car speed, I can slam it from 2nd to 1st if I wanted to or even accidentally. Is this normal? Or do I just have to get rid of the bad habit and spend the additional time to shift. Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks.
