Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

The battery in the key went dead (buttons don't work and redlight doesn't go on when pressed). Had the car for only after 5 months. However, the other key is fine and will be using that till I get a new battery for the key. How long is it supposed to last? Even thought the battery was dead in the key it still started the car, so maybe it still had a bit of juice left? Has anyone else had a key battery going dead in just 5 months?

POST 2Original post

Some Cayman owners have observed and complained that the transmitter buttons on the key were too sensitive. Is it possible that you had your key in your pants pocket while sitting for a long duration, accidentally having the button depressed causing the transmitter to transmit continuously, draining the battery? Regards, Joe
