Is it true that the "lock out" feature prevents the driver from altering the Navigation Route while driving? I heard that the e-brake has to be engaged (therefore, the vehicle stopped) before that can be done. There are "offers" from "that" auction site to bypass this. Now the question: Has this presented a problem to any of you? Has anyone tried the "solution"?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

it depends.. on how its installed...there is a way to bypass any lockouts apparently......ask your installer for details but frankly no one should be doing this...its too dangerous for you and the others on the road!
Dangerous for the driver to be doing it. But if you have a rider who's making the changes for you, would that be a problem?
My installer bypassed the lockout. It should be a no-brainer for most installers. And yes, it IS handy for my passenger to enter data while moving. Lots of people get this done so they can watch videos while moving, but why you would need that in a 2-seat sports car is beyond me.
if its unlocked... my point is its likely you'd be tempted use it when you are alone, and frankly if its not illegal, it should be....it only takes a second to cause an accident but hey with all the crazies dialing on their cell phones maybe no one will notice! ;-)
