Hi guys, I've been quiet on this forum ever since selling my 993 C2S Vesuvius and moving abroad some years ago. Well I'm back and I'm in a 996 these days and have to say I enjoy it more than I ever expected. It was kind of a stop-gap car while looking for a proper 911. Been trying for 2 or 3 years now to break the engine - no luck. Ah well, I'll keep it then. I attach some pics of it. Yes it had an unusual life before I brought it with me to the UK. One thing I can say, it has zero rust and believe it or not, zero rattles!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

:welcome: back. Please note that I had to remove the link to your business as it contravenes 911uk rules re advertising.
No problem. It would have been nice though if I received a response to my earlier email where I asked admin whether I could post a link or not. Since the link on your "advertise with us" page goes unanswered - please tell me here how it works. Here's another pic of my car in the presence of greatness.
Welcome back Petronus ...... since when has a 996 not been a proper 911 ...... :?: :dont know: Unless of course you might be implying that it wasn't air-cooled ...... in that case I see your point ....... p.s. I like the Ducktail ....... :thumb:
Hey Madalaa, thanks! About the 996 being a proper 911, I guess it's subjective. That M96 engine though ... controversial! I attended a 996 gathering at Paul Stephens a few weeks ago, not knowing who or what to expect. Lo and behold it was like the Porsche gatherings of old with real enthusiasts who examined each others' cars, asked technical questions, told tales of epic journeys, talked about parts & upgrades. Not a single word about mileage, depreciation, appreciation, rarity, investment value or windscreen widgets. I felt right at home. Here are some more photos. I'm afraid I can't find a single "normal" photo of my car.
Welcome back although i don't think we have had the pleasure so far .. i'm a newbie love the duck tail .. a rare sight in this country .
Hi Nice 996. Love the ducktail also. I am a longstanding 993 owner, but this year have bought a 986 Boxster, and actually there is a lot to like about it. Best of luck! Berni
Love all this talk of the 996 being the devil's child. Welcome back, they do suit a duck tail.
