Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi all, Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on something: my 2000 C4 creaks pretty loud when go over short or long bumps. It's kinda embarrassing.... I think it's springs, but I'm no expert. Thoughts? Thanks, John

POST 3Original post

I think its time to look under the car. Shocks might causing this.

POST 4Original post

Bushing or shocks. Bushings even new like the dastardly neoprene straight from the factory will drive a guy nuts with creaking. Sure neoprene is hard and long lasting for suspension bushings but they will creak just as long. So if you have a neoprene suspension or any other just try a bushing lube. It's best applied before installing but eh. Shocks or springs it might be the spring roosts/seats. Good luck getting rid of the noise.

Thanks for the info! What should I look for when I'm under the car? Is it something that can be identified visually? Thanks, John
