I received the new Panorama yesterday, opened it up and saw an article on the 991.2 with a pretty good treatment of the new twin turbo 3.0 engine. I found this, like many articles Panorama does, clear and informative. For those of us who happen to have Boxsters and Caymans , it occurred to me that we probably will gain some insights into what we might expect to be done with those turbo 4s coming down the pike. As example, the 3.0 in the 991.2 is a completely new engine with interesting treatment of design, construction, and operation and clear intent by Porsche to not confuse the 991 Turbo with turbo engined Carrera and Carrera S. The tubo 4 is, from early prognosticatins, is also to be completely new. Anyway, for what it is worth...............Oh and as a plug....another reason to be a member of PCA.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Yes, that article was an interesting read, and PCA membership is a worthwhile investment, BUT Panorama , like Christophorus , are far from unbiased sources, IMO.
If you really want to understand the engine, read Pete's Technical Analysis . As to Panorama not being unbiased, of course not, by definition. But the tech guys know their stuff.
