After a friend had noticed my 996 behind him the following day he said this: "What a beautiful car everthing about it is perfect the shape the looks the sound I have travelled in one once and the handling was just awesome absolutely awesome what a car! He didn't ask how old it was or how much it cost and how much it cost to run I thanked for his comments and agreed with him This was in England from man who wants one but may never get one Quite a different reaction from what I am use to! I'm 12 months into ownership and still as giddy as him. Porsche, well what else is there!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I usually get board of what ever car I own within 6 months but I have to honestly say I am totally hooked. I think it is because it is deep into our childhood for most of us 911 enthusiasts, I know I wanted one ever since I watched Beverly Hills Cop back in the early 80's. Even Ford Capri's did it for me in later years with Bodie and Doyle, I reckon it is the curve of the rear quarter glass you know? As much as I love the 996 cab, I am put off because that curved window is not there. Don't know what it was exactly, the angle, the light or what ever but walking to my car parked in the town centre the other day it was picture perfect, it looked squat and showed of its curves like a naked Sophie off Big Brother 09' <swoon> I do love 911's
Not being a BB watcher... :useless: :coat:
I was going to say emagine.... but on second thoughts don't... it could get messy!!
porsche reaction Totally agree with all thats been said especially as I own a cab c4s and yes lloyd I would love a curved rear window, but the cab does it for me I watched my son shunt my car the other day and thought wow just everything is perfect, I just dont hanker for anything else. well except for the national lottery win of course but even then I would still keep my car Regards Mike
Re: porsche reaction Sorry to hear that - hope the damage wasn't too bad. ~ Maxie
Porsche reaction Hi Maxi he just drove out of the car park and around the airfield where we were so I got to see it from a different angle , he did not damage it, I just called it a a shunt, because being in haulage thats what we do a lot of shunting! Mike
I have to agree. The 911 996 is a great looking car not sure why there is such divided opinion from Porsche owners!! They look so great my only other fav would be a 355 but even they are starting to look a little dated now. Had mine 6 months and still really impressed with the whole car package looks and performance.
I agree also the 996 is a good looking car when you see one out on the road and of course as a 996 owner myself, I would say that. However, I believe there is divided opinion amongst Porsche owners because the 996 isn't as attractive as the variant before it or after it, I have to say (unfortunately). ~ Maxie :dont know:
I agree the 355 is very dated now, went to see one and decided it could not shake a stick at my porsche, I also think the 996 will become desirable especially the 4s etc, I drove mine today and cannot fault it inside or out, and everytime I drive it it makes me smile.Mike
I'd say my C4s is at least as attractive as a 997. The rear end on the 996 if far nicer!
996 C4S is quite possibly the exception, as you say and also by popular opinion, it is possibly the most attractive 996 of them all. ~ Maxie
Nothing wrong with this rear end 8)
The 997's rear spoiler doesn't rise quite as high as a 996's; a 996 rear end with spoiler up looks better than a 997 with spoiler up. ~ Maxie
To be honest I never found the attraction of the 4S, it does nothing for me. In my mind the narrow body 996 is a much abused and disliked beauty. The only wide body rear end I lust after is the 7RS and that's a completely different story...
