Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

because apparently we all like pics of cars here....... after a recent outing with a bottle or two of Merguiars steps 2 and 3, now off for a wee jaunt from norfolk to oldham, over snake pass - well apparently its the shortest route!? new here and just thought i would say hi and thanks for the help so far. Toohey

POST 2Original post

Wow! Excellent choice of car! What spec is it? I can already see its got the side skirts and the fixed rear spoiler :thumb: Welcome to the club. ~ Maxie

POST 3Original post

:welcome: to the 996 fold. Hope you're not leaving it in the open in Oldham overnight - even the taxis go around in pairs :floor: There are much better roads over the Penines than the Snake 'cause all the caravans get in the way, unless you are really early or really late. Best of luck with the new car, looks good with the GT3 kit :thumb:

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

spec is manual 02 plate carrera 2 with the GT3 aero kit, just clicked over 24k miles with metro blue interior, rosso's on the rims and the rather clunky pcm 1 with very 90's telephone handset! it will only be paying a drive thru visit to oldham to look at a car with a mate! so should be safe! As for the roads over the penines.... i live to be educated!.....suggestions please

POST 5Original post

Oldham to Glossop, via Hayfield to Chinley (good), A6 for about 2 miles until turn off to Castleton (OK). A6 to Castleton (very good), Castleton to Sheffield (very good), Eccleshall Road in Sheffield (totty and Ferrari spotting) then boring route home. :thumb:

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheers bubbles for suggestions, ran out of time this trip for playing in the hills but will save the info for the next trip out in that direction. T

POST 7Original post

Looks great with the Kit....i was looking to do mine but was told by the PCM that i could not have a rear spoiler unless i had the GT3 bumper they said it would make the care unstable due to altering the aero dynamics of the car....?

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

:coat: ......i'll fetch me coat.......have done a bit more research on my toy, tis not a GT3 body kit at all!..... its the carrera fixed rear spoiler on the back (see pic) - so i guess no need for the accompanying high down force GT3 nose? toohey ps anyone else from around the norfolk or norwich area?

POST 9Original post

Although everyone calls them "GT3 Kits" there is no such thing AFAIK. They are Aerokits. Cup 1, Cup 2, and Carrera. They have a small plastic splitter under the PU to balance the rear spoiler.

POST 10Original post

Thanks for the info, apologies I am also a newbie to Porsche....I have a 1998 C2 and would love to put a fixed spoiler on the back....if I do not have to put a full body kit on it will save me a fortune...can anyone advise on types of rear spoiler, costs and where I could get one...like the one on the pic...where did you get it Cheers Steve

POST 11Original post

I hope you don't think I was having a go - I didn't mean it to sound like that - sorry. You can fit the Carrera rear spoiler with a standard front PU and no side skirts. It's the Cup spoilers that need a splitter.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
