Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I find the steering wheel gets pretty slippy in hot weather... is there a simple way to cover it with alcantara or suede? I have a tip, so swapping the whole wheel is not really an option I guess. And I'm hoping for a solution that doesnt look like its come out of a mini-cab...

POST 2Original post

i have not seen many mini cabs with these sorry

Look if you've got sweaty mitts see your doctor! Don't go redesigning the sacred Porsche steering wheel You're going to have to own up to your problem to a potential new owner when he sees your mod and this confession is hardly going to seal the deal If you don't fancy the pink mod above try weightlifters chalk for now or buy some Bodie/Doyle style gloves! Oh and keep your gloves on when you shake to seal your future deal

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well thats fairly ''bab's cabs'' i would say... hadnt thought of driving gloves- a nice pair of stringbacked ones maybe... helpful suggestions!

POST 6Original post

Make sure you get the right look The ones with GP checks could be all the rage once again

POST 7Original post

You could try the obvious and clean and condition the wheel with a decent leather cleaner and conditioner. I find it makes the wheel a lot less slippery. If its black leather and hasn't been done for a while, you will be amazed at the cr@p which comes off.

POST 8Original post

I was down at ninemeister last month having new manifolds fitted (another story) and while I was there I spotted a lovely alcantara covered three spoke steering wheel which they sell for £250 (I think you trade in your old wheel). Speaking to the chaps there, it's an ex-rolls royce upholsterer that does it, so maybe you could try them and see if they can do something for you. They looked very well finished, felt lovely and the one there even had the 'reference band' at the top of the wheel a la GT3 RS. Definitely going to be a future mod for me!!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks guys... will try cleaning, and look into the covered option- i think i saw a similar wheel at goodwood the other week- that was partly got me thinking.
