Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi All, Can you order a Cayman S with cocoa leather? Saw it in a 997 and was very nice... Thinking of either a black or white w/ cocoa but leaning towards black as my BMW 545 is black as well. Advice/opinions appreciated!

POST 2Original post

Yes and I did. The car was finished on Friday and I got my VIN on Monday. Arctic Silver with Cocoa. Those pictures in white sure look great. Had I seen that combo before my order was locked I might have changed to white, although I am not that keen on the white parts inside. JHellow

Welcome Trader, As jhellow said you can, but it is a healthy $2525 extra under special colors. I think even the regular full leather was about $1900. I saw the Cocoa on that white 911 and it did look gorgeous! Russ

POST 4Original post

jhellow: thanks, and congrats on the car. I am planning a late 2006 delivery russ: thanks for the welcome. you inspired me to hit the gym big time again, its my 40th next year and you sure are an inspiration! Cheers!

POST 5Original post

Yes I also ordered the Artic Silver/Cocoa full leather. There are so many stunning choices that it will be fun seeing them all.

POST 6Original post

Naturally, I prefer Carmon Red with Cocoa leather (cocoa is understated elegance) 'when the browns, reds and golds of autumn lie in the gutter, dead' guess I'm showing my age but Carmon and Cocoa just seem like a natural fit for each other

POST 8Original post

guess Porsche should re-think the target market, seems like a bunch of old farts hang out here!

POST 9Original post

Carmon: If the target market was the 30-40 age group, I really think Porsche did miss the target. The Cay S probably appeals more to those of us in the 45-60 age group that remember cars we could not afford 30 or more years ago, the Dino or perhaps the Pantera, both mid-engine wonders of their time. Now that we are older, more established and in search of that last bit of our youth with more refined taste, the quest for the mid-engine we remember from 30 or more years ago was left somewhat unfulflled when Acura failed to further develop and support the NSX. The Cay S fits that bill. In fact, given the likely real demographics for the car, Porsche could have charged $20k more and put the 3.8 X51 in and they would have sold that car to many, me included. Let's just hope they recognoze the opportunity in the future. JHellow

POST 10Original post

And don't forget the Porsche 550 that I fell for when I was 10. I agree this is our reward.

POST 11Original post

I have been to the other forum. The hard core 911 guys are never going to understand why we want the Cayman because they didn't dream Dinos when they were kids and teens. They dreamt 911s . Nothing wrong with that, just a different dream. JHellow

SF, Your talking my languageThe Moody Blue's will be with me on my second drive, the will be just me and the engine. Russ

POST 13Original post

This post took an interesting turn. What was your dream car as a kid? Post yours on the new thread I'll start. I heard mine mentioned.
