Hi Guys, I have just removed the radio from my 996 cab but to install the new one the power wires seem too short to connect.I assume that I will have to get in behind the radio to attach this lead. Anyone know how to get in behind to connect, will the whole dash have to come out :?: Chers PJE :nooo:

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

The air con unit can come out quite easily, which makes access easier and organise the wires you have to take off the facial surround then remove the air con display for better access, an explanation that "Richard H" would explain much better
If there was enough slack on the wires to remove the original radio through the radio opening, I'm not sure why you can't get the new one in. You could do what Sundeep suggests, and remove the aircon panel to give you more access to the back of the radio. Just pull off the trim surround, and you will see 4 screws. Undo them, and the unit slides out. I'd check that the radio wires aren't trapped first. There is usually a reasonable amount of slack.
996 Radio Thanks Guys, will give it a go. :worship:
