Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking for my 1st Porsche, live the dream... I am confused as to which is more desirable.. The Blue coupe on autotrader seems sexier, great alloys, sat nav.. The cbrio only looks sexy when the hoods down... Which is better... and what should i look for - Budget is upto 17K. Al the advice I can get will be appreciated

POST 2Original post

I like the blue one, and as no-one drives with the hood down in convertibles, even in summer, the cab will never look "sexy".

POST 3Original post

I'd go for the cab every time :thumb: And I had the roof down in mine constantly in the summer, and so far in the 997 in mroe than 50% of the journeys the roof has been down But if you don't want to have the roof down there would be no point in having the convertible :dont know:

POST 4Original post

I was merely being sarcastic. There are a lot of people who do drive about with the hoods up on the best days of the year, leaving me to wonder if they ever get it down. If the OP wants opinion on a specific car, "The blue one on Autotrader" just doesn't cut it! OK so a bit of investigative work using an AT search on "996, C2, Coupe, 1998, Blue, Sat Nav, Sexy Alloys, 17k ish" might narrow it down - but help us out! Where are the links?

POST 6Original post

Sid007, Thanks for PM, but this is what is needed: http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...icleYearOfManufacture=1998&vehicleRegLetter=C or http://www.bakerbrothers.co.uk/GetDealer.do?did=21247&pageid=1 Either copy top address bar URL or right click window or image for properties in AT and copy Address(URL) http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/imgser-uk/servlet/media?id=933435818

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...icleYearOfManufacture=1998&vehicleRegLetter=C This is the shortcut I think

POST 8Original post

Sid007 You only need the img /img if you bookend the file URL No need if you attach the file via 911UK server Just to make it harder on your first day, AutoTrader run their image sever in "protected" mode so you can't piggy back their server. Even img switches not force the image to appear in the thread

POST 9Original post

cab every time. whats not to love hardtop for winter so two cars in one. Just got back from a summer eve drive and they are just fantastic.

POST 10Original post

if it comes with a hardtop, then the cab seems a great idea, I looked at one but it didnt have a hardtop so I was put off and I was too impatient to look around and the nearest one was 250 miles away... roof down you can drive along laughing, "ha I have porsche", whilst you, are stuck in your tossy audi with its stupid lights on, yacking into your hands free like a twat.

POST 11Original post

Has to be the cab. Totally quiet and coupe like with the roof up (especially the hard top in winter) and the all important ability to have it down whenever you like. And ignore the pish above about not getting the lid down - mine is down even on winter mornings when the skies are clear and it's baltic outside - the heater works perfectly!!!

POST 12Original post

I never drive round wishing i had a roof. Now if you had a coupe and saw a cab would you think i wish i had one of them?

But its Manual..... any Suggestions on Auto or Manual? are the red seats an advantage???
