So, my question is this. Are the parts from left and right seats interchangeable? Could a passenger seat back be transplanted onto a drivers side seat if that makes sense? The bases are obviously "sided" for the switches and levers. Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi yes they are, at least for what i did a couple of years ago.... my drivers seat was a little worn/foam misshaped, as the drivers seat always gets the most ware. What i did was buy a really good condition passenger side seat and just swap over the runners and electrics/controls from my old drivers seat to the new passenger seat, the base frame has the same mounting points for the controls on both sides, you just have to cut a section (carefully!) out of the leather to be able to mount the controls (you can feel this through the leather). This gets your controls accessible/next to the door sill, i then plastic welded and leather covered the (new) passenger seat control backing panel so that i didn't have a hole in the outer side of the seat base bolster, this ends up tight next to your centre tunnel and basically hidden, could probably get away with having a hole here but i just thought it finished a little better. hope that helps! i would also imagine that backs can be swapped onto either drivers or passengers bases. seats are quite time consuming to fiddle with but there is nothing complex, good luck :thumb:
