Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all I have a 996 cabrio and want to find out if I have the 8 or 16 BIT PCM build in my car. The date of first registration was March 2002 Hope that anyone can help me. Also, does anyone have the upgrade version for the 16 BIT?

POST 2Original post

You have PCM1 Second Generation 16-bit, which was introduced 31/01/2001. Can't help with updates, I'm afraid.

POST 3Original post

Hi, Not sure what you mean by 'upgrade'? If you are after upgrading the maps to 2009 - see the thread at: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=42303 Cheers Tim

POST 4Original post

Hi there, not to steal the thread, but I am looking at a March 03 car, will the Sat Nav be the latest gen for the model? Cheers
