Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thats a matter of opinion, but thanks for your informative, considered feedback.
I agree, they don't look good. Why do you want to fit them?
Because I like the look of individual round headlights that the older 911's had and new 911's have retro'd back to. This is a front-on photo, looks ok to me. Each to their own, and all that.
Can't say i like the look either..but as you say each to their own...Obvs someone liked it as they stuck it on the one in the pic... :wack:
Forgive me for my opinion, but bleugh! Anyway, if you like round, get round. Get a lovely 993 or equally lovely 997. Personally, I actually prefer the preFL (say it quietly, Boxster) lights.
I think they look pretty awful too, but to answer the question I believe they are made by Strosek.
If you search ebay for '996 headlight cover' you'll find a few people make these. Starting at around £40 a pair unpainted. They are stuck on with numbplate type stickers. I haven't got them but have noticed them. At least they are not permanent if you don't like them after a while.
Techart also do a pair if you want to pay £££s...
not for me, the surrounds don't add anything to the appearance of the car, I accept that some my like this look. Personally I'd walk away.
Just thinking, a Turbo you say? I thought those covers were only for the 3.4 lights. Turbo is facelift? Sounds suspect...
The car is a 108k aubergine (ok Vesuvius Grey) 3.4 Tip C2 with cinnamon hide, aerokit and a Turbo badge! http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...icleYearOfManufacture=2000&vehicleRegLetter=V
I generally dont like making significant modifications to a car but I actually like the look of these covers. Ive a turbo with headlight washers so I doubt any could be obtained that would look right but if you have no washers, the covers are removeable and not prohibitively expensive I dont see why not. Edited to add that Ive now looked at the Techart site (link below). downloaded the full pdf brochure and some good pictures of covers on facelifted cars (turbo as it happens). Look to be very good quality and very flush fitting. On the link below click on the black car on the left for a larger version. The pdf manual has a couple of closer pics including one around page 49 I think which shows the flushness of fitting. I think the covers actually look better on facelifted cars as you dont have the covers breaking the horizontal line across the bumper. http://www.techart.de/en/techart-sh...echart-aero-for-996-turbogt2/highlights.html#
Well, I firmly believe in each to their own. On this one, I have to say they're not my cup of tea. I'm intrigued as to what exactly secures them to the luminaire? At track speeds "detachment imminent" springs to mind..... :dont know:
