Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Trying to get back into a 911 after 10 years. Used to own a 930 and missed it since the day i sold it. I am currently looking at a 996, which is absolutley mint with full history but has covered 140K most of which were motorway miles. It is currently on Ebay item number 280365923960. if anyone has an opinion or can give me a few pointers or thoughts i'd be gratefull

POST 2Original post

hmmmmm ... 140K miles is still a fair bit for that engine? Or isn't it? I might be happier with a Merc Diesal at that but .... So many cars out thee at the moment I'd look around a bit then think long n hard ......... hmmm I need to ponder this one!

POST 3Original post

I do generally believe in the whole "buy on condition, not mileage" thing, but 140k miles would put me off. When I was looking for mine a couple of months ago, I saw some very good cars for around £16k with 70-80k miles.

POST 5Original post

more anon but .... just selling mine with 16K on the clock.... There are a number of low mileage cars out there. 140K "might" be too much But 60K on a car that hasn't been looked after is worse! Buy on condition condition condition is the best ever advice!
