Hi. I have recently purchased a 996 C4 and love the car apart from the money I have spent on it so far! I have noticed that when I start the car up from cold there is a sound from the rear of the car which is quite loud. only way i can describe it is it sounds like a loud fan type noise which last for 1 or 2 seconds and then goes? It hasnt effected the running of the car and is only from stone cold. if the vehicle is running for a minute or 2 and turnt off andstarted back up this wouldnt happen. I know its a long shot that anyone may know the cause. I am booking the vehicle into Porsche Bristol this month for a service and new spare key so will ask them the question.... many thanks Matt

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Secondry air pump, not an issue at all and perfectly normal. When you look into the engine bay you'll see a black pump on the LHS of the airbox. :thumb:
