Am i right in thinking that a 996 switchable sports exhaust is the one that looks like two tail pipes stuck together. might sound like a really stupid question but have seen some advertised that are just the normal shape but still say in the ad switchable sports exhaust.
the end tips make no odds. could have PSE with various end tips. cheers
yes I concur with the above. I have just bought a C4S which has ordinary tips and has the PSE, I asked the same question of the dealer (Stirlings) Neil
If the sports exhaust is switchable, then the car should have a switch like the one illustrated, located in the central instrument panel inside the car. As pervious posts mention, the exhaust tail pipes are simply tips that can be changed and bear no resemblance (on a Porsche OE system) to the actual silencers/mufflers fitted to the car.
thanks for correcting me on that as i have been ruling possibly suitable cars out because of this. has anyone else noticed a rise in c4s prices recently
Yes, I have. At the beginning of the year they were really low in price, thats why I started looking. By the time I bought one in May the prices were already picking up. Now i've noticed you need at least 30k for one! (Unless you buy private of course). Dave
Looking on PH not many private ones for sale. I was thinking of putting PSE on my 03 C4S purely for sound, do you think it will add value as well and\or make it sell better if i ever decide to upgrade it for a Turbo S?

Basalt balck and Basalt leather very good choice if i may add , PSE as well?
Yes, PSE as well, plus BOSE - music to my ears! Especially with the sunroof open :thumb: But mine doesn't have Basalt leather :dont know: - just black leather, and the small alloy pack which I think looks very fine indeed.
