Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Im currently selling my ferrari and having an empty garage will get to me in awhile. I have always liked porsches, the ones Ive driven have been fine, but too refined for me. I prefer a manual, older raw car versus a gentlemans driver and would like input regarding 911's and models that may fit me well. Ive looked a newer GT2/3 cars, and older 993 cars. I like the smell of raw gas, a firm ride, loud loud rumbling tubi or capristo exhaust and the stereo can get thrown out the window. The TT 993s are intriguing, but would like to hear from others like me who have gone this route as well. Thank you Nd

You want something that reminds you of teh older Porsche's then the 987.2 (Cayman) is a good place to start, as it has the proportions, the steering feel, balance and the engine over your shoulder so you hear and feel everything it does. 997 GT3 would also fit you well and is a true drivers car right out of the box, where as the Cayman you'll need to tweak a little to get sounding and feeling just right Still maybe the 987 and 997 are too sterile for what you want and so a 964 or 993 may be really where you need to look.
