Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Got my R/C car the other day. While driving it around yesterday, I noticed that the area around the air intake to the front wheel well looks just like a hockey stick. Got one out, laid it out next to it and it was a dead ringer. Had never noticed it in the pics before. Will look much closer Fri. at the dealers to see how much the REAL thing replicates it.

POST 2Original post

Funny you should mention that, the Thrill of the Chase book mentions that they call them the hockey sticks at Porsche.

POST 3Original post

that's what my dealer called them as well I prefer 'gills'

POST 4Original post

The first time I heard that term was from Crazy_Fast on this site weeks ago. Being an artist I think he just saw it that way. Russ

Gills uh... I like that concept. (Not sure if Caimans actually do have gills, perhaps though) It's like the air intake for the 'heart' of the car, the engine, not unlike other sub-aquatic animals, the 'air intake' for their lungs, heart etc.. Interesting. I think the designers designed the 'gills' for this purpose (the front especially looks like a Caiman) and the engineers added the 'sweep' to allow for more air entering the 'gills.' The end result, Hockey Sticks. Great find!

POST 6Original post

actually, I was thinking 'gills' as in air breathing dragon (or Cayman if you will) Edited by - carmon red in Austin on 12/07/2005 9:56:23 PM

Well we all have opinions. Just giving my 2 cents. Air breathing dragon, hmmm...makes me think lol.
