Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

greetings from sunny singapore, i have 996 C4S 3.6L and would like upgrade my stock exhaust... need advice on which ones to get... my current stock exhaust is wayyyyy too quiet... i want something with more punch and presence... does anyone here have any experience with designtek exhaust package offered by design911... its priced rather attractively with headers, straight pipes and muffs... all for 1200-1700 pounds i am also considering tubi... thank u in advance for ya replies... geoff

POST 2Original post

Welcome. I'm from Singapore too. Almost bought a Tubi, decided it was too costly, considered the Designtek system (see this owner on Renntech who recently installed it http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=28187 ), but ended up getting Fabspeed with Headers, retained the original cats. They are on the way as we speak. I would imagine the Tubi would sound really good, it sounded fantastic on my Ferrari. But come resale time, I've come to realize that I've wasted all my money on these go-faster parts. I'll let you know how it goes!

POST 3Original post

There is only one to choose and that's the PSE (Porsche Sports Exhaust)

POST 8Original post

Pah! Forget the PSE, go for the stainless steel manifolds and muffler bypass pipes and you get the following: -A headache every time you drive the car for more than ten minutes. -Your neighbours will hate you. -Nobody will want to be in your car for more than ten minutes (see first point!) -Plod will invariably want to disuss the facts of life with you. However, the noise is ***** for your ears, following a Ferrari F430 spider around town on sunday and I definitely got more attention (if that's your sort of thing!) Oh, and it also means that you can't hear any of those annoying rattles or squeaks (or the stereo, your phone, your partner.........) :thumb:

POST 9Original post

If noise is your thing then the cheapest option is to simply take your exhaust off. Easy. Thank me later.

POST 11Original post

They're all right I ve just taken a miltek exhaust of a cayman which was all base and sounded dreadfull The PSE is like having a brass band behind you and come resale time you have an added option that people do want, it might not be cheap, but the one thing with Porsche is that they do think and spend a lot of money on what they do,

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thank u all for ya replies... i'm gonna be a daredevil and give the designtek a try... update u guys when i get it!
