Can anyone tell me where the amp is located in an 06 Cayman S ? I thought it would be in the front boot but no sign of it. In addition, the car I have recently bought, does not have a CD multi changer, I assume that this was an option (that the original owner didn't choose). Are they easy enough to add? Finally, is it really worth the cost to upgrade the speakers? Thank you

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does your car have the bose option? Honestly, it would probably be easier to get modern functionality (cd changer lol) from removing the stock unit and adding an aftermarket double DIN unit. Lots of great posts from people here on how to go about it.
Well personally I would not add a CD changer. However, if you have a BOSE then in the back is a plug for the CD changer. I don't know about the stock sound system. Anyway, I have seen multiple 987 Porsche with smart phone plugs that have been wired into that CD plug in the back of the BOSE system . This, IMHO, would be a much better way to go. Good Luck!
Sorry, should have mentioned, I have the sound plus package. I have bought the double din bezel adaptor and have a Kenwood DNX-8160DABS ordered and on it's way to me, I just wanted to check out the amp that was in the car and (depending upon cost) have a multi with a few of my favourite CD's in it. CD changer is probably overkill as the Kenwood has a good few options for playing music so the Amp is really the one that I am most interested in learning more about. thanks
Since it seems no one has answered it yet, the amp is most likely under your passenger seat if it isn't in the frunk. Also I have a nice write up on how to replace that recently posted here.
It appears that the amp is located in the frunk.
