I have a 996.1 aero that's going to be painted. The only thing that I'm looking at doing away from the standard look is possibly a ram air style scoop like the later gt3's. I could fabricate something from steel as I can weld it on because it's going for paint anyway. I keep looking at k+n's and the likes and think with a little ram air effect, it should work better, either with the original airbox or k+n. I have gone to some length to make the whole car lighter and sharper so tis would be the last thing on the power list. Apart from maybe making an exhaust. I have seen stuff for sale but it's scandalous money. I know you get what you pay for but the porsche tax is high on these. I have seen more reasonably priced items on porsche shop but they must be fibreglass and tbh they just look cheap. Has anyone went down this route? Either with a bought item or fabricated?
