Recently after I took the key out of the ignition - I pushed the radio button and it turned on! Could this be a glitch? Any thoughts from my esteemed members would be greatly appreciated...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I don't think it is a glitch mine does the same thing. I thought it was strange also.
Did you happen to consult your radio Owners Manual ? Mine says "when the ignition is switched off the unit can be switched on by pressing the volume control butten, but it will switch off automatically after 1 hour".
it's normal my boxster & Cayman S all have that executive feature!!!
SF - I've never heard of this 'Owners Manual' before. Is it some new scripture sent down by the gods? Do you have to know Ferdinand himself to conjure up such exotic writings? Maybe when Gutenburg invents the printing press I too will be able to learn such things! Seriously, I know whereof you speak now that I've been a member for over a year. Maybe I will eventually take over the duties as owners manual keeper from you, although my cynicism will eventually wear through and I would never be able to bite my tongue as you've been able to! Ken - may I suggest that 10 posts and reading your owners manual become a condition for PM'ing?!
enviro - EVERYBODY has to go through the 'read the owner's manual' routine at least once! Geeks like myself read through it like it is an epic novel! And SF is our resident gatekeeper of the manual who reminds us now and then that this tome of knowledge exists and has reportedly come with every Cayman sold!
Agree with Nitro. Having purchased a $70M toy why wouldn't someone want to read the manual? It is not like the features of a Porsche are like those of all those vanilla vehicles out there. I admit that not wanting to know about that boggles my mind. This one didn't even take much diligence since it was in the first few pages of the radio manual.
